The entire family of this child was on the ground watching the child jump from the balcony. It is entirely possible the child saw its mother or father and wanted to be with them. Toddlers do not often think of the wisdom when it comes to getting what they want, it's instead immediate gratification. But adults are a whole other reasoning quandary.
Why in all that is common sense would a mother or father leave their toddler alone in an apartment. Please do not answer, not even in your head. All answers are senseless to the point of a single jelly bean in a jar with a sign asking "how many jelly beans in the jar?"
China's suicide rate rose from 18% to 23% as reported from the 1980's and 1990's, women reported as the higher suicide numbers. China does not keep up with yearly reports to the World Health Organization so accurate information is just not available publicly. Children are reported as jumping out of windows to their death because of stress from school testing. Married people are more likely to kill themselves than singles in China. Public Health reports hint to mental or generational genealogy as a potential reason for the jumping to death problems.
But when you ask the older children they say, its a lack of joy. The children report individualism is not promoted. It makes you wonder if all the stifling of government molds irresponsible parents.
