Today the Washington Post Newspaper reported on a 7-2 decision to allow a long standing community monument remain in a public space. The monument is a cross, a Christian symbol of faith. But the Supreme decided although the cross is a faith symbol it also represents secular sentiments. The cross was originally erected for soldiers from World War I, who had not returned home. Residents of the Maryland community see the cross as a gathering place. Freedom for a non-Christian is the same freedom for a Christian. Why is it okay to denounce Jesus for the sake of another belief. America is about inclusion. Although we, America, were not solely founded for the purpose of Jesus, it is one of the motives that caused people from England to venture out.

There will always be disagreement of religion and faith. However, to tear down one for another is monumentally wrong. If we can not live and let live then we cease to exist. It is very hard to walk around angry all the time. While I may enjoy the space of Christians and black folks, I do want to find out about people that are not like me. So, to tell me I can not worship Jesus is almost like fighting words. I resolve to ignore it.

No, I am not walking back my statements from the show. The colonies of England separated from England for freedom of prosperity and faith. Greed, a sinful spirit, was the motivator for the establishment of America and the attainment. But to seek to unravel the faith of free will which is Christianity is inciting a riotous atmosphere. To now seek to take away freedom of faith is a returning to taking away free will. While I am not a fan of how America became a strong economy off the backs of people who were enslaved while giving colonist contracts to work the land as free men and obtain the land after debts paid, I am an American. I am the offspring of one of those enslaved that built, bled, lived and died for free rights of Americans with the cross in their hearts, on their minds and covering their backs. Just like the cross I am staying.
